Jacks Mountain Wildlife Solutions doesn’t just focus on big game species such as deer and turkey. We also focus on small game species and their habitat as well. We know that small game are just as important to preserve as big game species. The small game species we focus on are Cotton Tail Rabbit, Pheasant, Quail, Gray Squirrel, Red Squirrel, Fox Squirrel, Woodcock, and Grouse. The creation of early successional habitat and open hard woods for these species is critical.

The habitat that is promoted and created comes from

  • Fence Rows
  • Over grown fields
  • Evergreen Plantings
  • Native Grass Planting
  • Disking of old fields to promote native vegetation
  • Brush Piles
  • Small Game Food Plots
  • Oak, Hickory, and Walnut fence rows
  • Squirrel boxes may also be constructed for increase in population
